【Christchurch, New Zealand | 12 November 2025】
The youth creative art exhibition Seeing New Zealand, hosted by the Everyone an Artist Trust and presented by Eager Art School, officially opened today at The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora in Christchurch.

Curated by Kirsten Clement and Lanita Singh, the exhibition brings together nearly one hundred original artworks and creative pieces by young artists, showcasing the vibrant natural landscapes, cultural impressions, and imaginative worlds seen through the eyes of New Zealand’s younger generation.
🌿 Exhibition Theme
Guided by the curatorial philosophy “Every Child an Artist”, Seeing New Zealand continues the longstanding mission of the Everyone an Artist Trust to champion the belief that “everyone is an artist.”
The exhibition invites visitors to rediscover New Zealand through the fresh, sincere perspectives of children — where mountains, oceans, gardens, families, and boundless imagination intertwine to form a world of innocence and poetic beauty.

The curators noted:
“Children in New Zealand express their feelings about the world in the most natural and intuitive way. Their works not only reflect growing artistic skills, but also reveal the power of art education in inspiring creativity, cultivating aesthetics, and building confidence.”

Closing Statement
Seeing New Zealand is more than an exhibition of youth artwork — it is a celebration of imagination, cultural identity, and the transformative role of art in shaping future generations. By giving young creators a platform within one of Christchurch’s most iconic cultural venues, the exhibition highlights the importance of nurturing creativity from an early age and fostering a community where every child’s artistic voice is seen and valued.
The Everyone an Artist Trust and Eager Art School hope that this exhibition will encourage broader public engagement with youth arts in Aotearoa New Zealand, and inspire more families, educators, and communities to support children in expressing themselves through creativity. As visitors walk through the galleries, they are invited to witness not only the innocence of childhood, but also the emerging visions of New Zealand’s next generation of artists.
