COMMUNITY SCREENING & DISCUSSION

A Shanghai Huai Opera Troupe Production

One Letter. One Life. An Artistic Dialogue Across Time.

Join us for a special community screening of Written in Sound, a theatrical production by the Shanghai Huai Opera Troupe, followed by a discussion exploring the work and its artistic themes.

Bringing together the emotional depth of letters, the distinctive traditions of Chinese opera, and contemporary theatrical expression, Written in Sound offers audiences an opportunity to experience the beauty of Chinese performing arts and reflect on the human stories that connect us across generations and cultures.

This special event invites the Christchurch community, theatre enthusiasts, and anyone interested in Chinese culture to come together for an evening of theatre, cultural exchange, and conversation.

Whether you are familiar with Chinese opera or discovering it for the first time, this screening offers an opportunity to engage with a distinctive theatrical work and share your thoughts with fellow audience members.
