Updated: Jul 10, 2023

The 53rd Anniversary of Earth Day - an exhibition of international youth art, organized New Zealand Everyone an Artist Trust, in collaboration with the Just Art Studio of Australia, successfully held the 53rd Anniversary of Earth Day - an exhibition of international youth art (Australia) in Melbourne, Australia on April 22 2023.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org (formerly Earth Day Network) including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2023 is Invest In Our planet.

In Councillor Jasmine's speech, she sincerely and passionately encouraged all of the young artists from all over Australia to create on behalf of the City Council. She spoke highly of the innovative, practical and educational nature of the event, an artistic activity combining diverse information such as culture, history and geography. The content is complete, rich, interesting, and thought-provoking.

During the opening ceremony, outstanding student representatives from Just Art Studio gave wonderful speeches and poetry readings from different perspectives such as water conservation, Marine resource conservation, environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development. Hundreds of parents and children who came to the exhibition listened intently to these plans and advocacy for the future and applauded warmly.

After the opening ceremony, excellent student representatives turned into on-site tour guides to show everyone the precious and creative works. There are impressive abstractions, illustrations and stories, beautifully coloured pencil depictions, and acrylic markers in dazzling colours. From sky to land and sea, from plants to animals and humans, each piece is thought-provoking and inspiring. Everyone thought hard about the past, present and future, and many in the audience lingered at the end of the event.

Ms Becky Cui, the director of Just Art Studio specially created a giant earth artwork for the exhibition, using dried and discarded acrylic paint left over from students' daily painting. The background is double-sided reversed sequins, and the audience can freely touch their own starry universe.
